Gender parity: the STM’s efforts are recognized

News

The STM is proud to announce that it has received GOLD Parity Certification from the Women in Governance organization.

This award strengthens the STM’s leadership position in its efforts to promote diversity and inclusion. Moreover, it acknowledges the quality strategies and measures put in place to promote gender parity in management positions and allow women to advance in their careers, at any level.

The Parity Certification recognizes the best practices of Canadian organizations that actively cultivate gender equality in the workplace, creating a pool of female talent.

A management committee with equal representation

This award comes just as the STM welcomes Geneviève Bourbeau to its executive committee as Executive Director, Customer Experience and Commercial Activity, bringing the number of women on the committee to four out of eight people.

“Since the arrival of Francine Maltais, the first female bus driver, in 1977, the face of the STM has changed considerably! Today, we find talented women in all areas, and more and more of them are holding management positions. With the recent appointment of Geneviève Bourbeau as Executive Director, Customer Experience and Commercial Activity, the executive committee now has an equal number of women and men. Once again, I’m incredibly proud!” says Luc Tremblay, Chief Executive Officer of the STM.
