Implementation of a reserved lane for buses, taxis and carpools on Louis-Hyppolite-Lafontaine corridor, beginning July 13

Montréal, July 9, 2020 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing that, beginning July 13, it will implement a reserved lane for buses, taxis and carpools on Louis-Hyppolite-Lafontaine Boulevard, between Highway 40 and Curatteau Street, in the Anjou and Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve boroughs. The reserved lane currently located between Des Roseraies Boulevard and Curatteau Street will also have its hours of operation extended.

At a total length of 2.01 km, this new reserved lane will be in operation Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. southbound. Along with other bus priority measures being implemented on Louis-Hyppolite-Lafontaine Boulevard, it will improve travel times and have a positive impact on some 16,500 trips daily. Of these trips, 4,000 are taken mainly during the afternoon rush hour, on bus lines 18 Beaubien, 428 Express Parcs industriels de l'Est, 432 Express Lacordaire and 444 Express Cégep Marie-Victorin.

This work is made possible through funding from the Ministère des Transports du Québec.
