Universal accessibility : D’Iberville station to have elevators in 2023

News

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will begin accessibility work at D’Iberville station on October 19.

While installing three elevators, the STM will also take the opportunity to refurbish the main entrance building at the corner of D’Iberville and Jean-Talon. This building will be closed for the duration of the work, which is scheduled to end in spring 2023. The station will remain open via the secondary entrance building at the corner of Louis-Hébert and Jean-Talon.

The work will cost $38.5 million and include:

  • Integrating three elevators and their accompanying mechanical equipment
  • Redesigning the main entrance building to widen the entrance, rebuild the structural slab and redo the flooring
  • Installing a new fare booth, fare sale and collection equipment
  • Building a natural ventilation shaft on the roof of the main entrance building
  • Refurbishing the entrance building roof
  • Raising the platforms
