The STCUM Is Launching Route 261 Trainbus Saint-Charles

Montréal, June12, 1997 - Within the restructuring framework of the West-Island and in answer to expectations from its ridership, the STCUM is launching Route 261 Trainbus Saint-Charles which will begin servicing customers on Monday June 16. This route will link the Antoine-Faucon sector to the Beaconsfield train station by way of Saint-Charles Boulevard during rush hour. Its schedule will be synchronized with that of the train, which will make it easier for commuters and reduce their waiting time.

This measure was taken to satisfy the commuters of this sector who, because of the cancellation of the Express 430 route, would have had longer waiting periods. By creating Route 261-Trainbus Saint-Charles, the STCUM makes up for this inconvenience and allows easier access to the Beaconsfield station for commuters.

It should be noted that this service will be available weekdays, from 6:30 am to 8:00 am and from 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm with a 35-minute service interval. However, since route 201 Saint-Charles /Saint-Jean also services this sector, commuters can expect a bus every 15 minutes.

For additional information, customers can contact a Centre A-U-T-O-B-U-S agent at 288-6287 or visit the STCUM's Internet site at www.stcum.qc.ca.
