Modifications to bus and métro service

Montreal, 27 June 2003 – Because of the Canada Day parade being held in the streets of Montreal, some of the STM’s bus routes will be modified on Tuesday July 1st, 2003.

As such, service will be suspended on both the 15 – Sainte-Catherine bus line between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and the 150 – Ren-Lvesque from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following bus routes will also be slightly modified at one time or another, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.: 57, 66, 107, 165 and 166.

In the métro, trains will be added on the 2 – Orange line, and service will be adjusted as needed on the 1 – Green and 4 – Yellow lines.

Bicycles in the métro
Because the event generates a significant increase in métro ridership, no bicycles will be allowed inside the métro from 10 a.m. till closing.

The STM recommends that métro users purchase their return ticket ahead of time, to avoid waiting in line, as ridership levels are usually much heavier after the event than before.

Service on Tuesday July 1st
Both bus and métro networks will provide weekend service levels on Tuesday, July 1st, with buses running according to either Saturday or Sunday schedules. Transit users are invited to call the TELBUS number featured on their bus stop panel when planning their transportation. For trip information (Montreal Island only), please call A-U-T-O-B-U-S (288-6287). More useful information can be found on the STM’s website at www.stm.info.
