Over 165 000 persons visited
the three stations on the orange line
Montreal, April 29, 2007 - The Chairman of the STM Board of Directors, Claude Trudel, is happy to report that over 165 000 persons visited the Cartier, de la Concorde and Montmorency métro stations during the weekend.
“We thought that a few thousand people would show up to see the new installations as part of the Open Doors activities, but the crowds were far beyond our expectations. Perhaps is was the two days of free access to transit that convinced such large numbers of people to visit the new stations. And that’s just fine !”
“We are all very proud of the work that was accomplished by STM, STL and AMT staff. The orange line extension is now a done deal. Let’s hope that it becomes the first choice for the thousands of people who have to travel between the two islands.”
