The All-Nighter at Place-des-Arts station
is a resounding success !!!

Montreal, March 6, 2007 - More than 1500 people participated at one moment or another on the night of March 3 to 4 in the first event presented by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) as part of the 4th Montréal Highlights Festival’s All-Nighter.

The Place-des-Arts station was transformed for the occasion into an urban space with a stage, lighting effects and plasma screens designed to get everyone into the rhythm of hip-hop.

The superb group, Soulvation, with its funk, soul, R&B and hip-hop rhythms, set the tone for the show, which was hosted by the incomparable MC Doctor Step. Then the very popular DJ Static and DJ Lewis took over for the RAW hip-hop and B-Boy (breakdance) competitions, which went on until 5 a.m. and featured members of the Urban-Element dance centre.

The night owls in attendance were treated to amazing performances by the best dancers on the Montréal hip-hop scene. In three words: altitude, aptitude and attitude! The hip-hop and B-Boy (breakdance) competitions were won by the duo Twin Towers (Andy and Samantha) and B-Girl Lynx respectively.

Besides its employees, whose efforts ensured the smooth running of the event, the STM would like to thank the evening’s organizers, Ulica and Urban-Element, for their dynamism and extreme professionalism. Thanks also go to the musicians and dancers who demonstrated exceptional creativity and generosity.

Never has the Place-des-Arts station felt such vibrations!
