Change your world !
The STM, a partner of the twenty-second edition of
Montréal Museums Day

Montreal, May 22, 2008 To make it easier for visitors who will be taking part in its Open Doors event, the Board of Montréal Museum Directors and the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) are offering a free shuttle bus service on Sunday, May 25, 2008.

Shuttle buses will leave from Journal de Montréal head offices at 4545 Frontenac. The free shuttle service will be provided from that departure point between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the last museum-bound departure at 4:30 p.m.

“For the twenty-second edition of Montréal Museum Day, some 42 buses will travel the streets of Montréal along six routes created specially for the event, allowing visitors to discover the treasures held by any one of the 29 participating museums,” declared the Chairman of the STM Board of Directors, Claude Trudel.

“I take pride in this exceptional partnership that allows the STM, as the official transporter, to contribute to the event’s growing success, an event that never ceases to surprise us with the diversity of its exhibits. As chairman of the STM board of directors, I truly hope that this association holds together for many more years to come ! ”, insisted Mr. Trudel.

He also insisted upon reminding everyone that visitors who choose to not use the free shuttles can still take part in the event by using the STM’s regular transit system, as many museums are accessible by public transit. They should however show their valid transit fare. The STM invites these people to pay particular attention to the over 80 works of art found inside métro stations.

By calling A U-T-O-B-U-S (514 288-6287), visitors can obtain bus timetables at their stop. For all other information, they can call STM-INFO (514 786-4636). More transit related information is available from the STM website at www.stm.info.
