A musical gift for Christmas:
The STM and the Orchestre Métropolitain present
a free concert!
Montréal, December 7, 2009 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the Orchestre Métropolitain, accompanied by the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, are pleased to join together to present an original and free concert. On December 9, from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m., passersby in the Berri-UQAM station will have the opportunity to stop and listen to a dozen musicians from the Orchestre Métropolitain and seven singers from the Atelier lyrique performing excerpts from operas such as La Bohème, Carmen, La Flûte enchantée and Hansel et Gretel that echo the enchantment of Christmas The Orchestre Métropolitain, under the baton of conductor Giuseppe Pietraroia, promises an emotional and pleasurable experience that recreates the magic of the holiday season through the magic of opera. The STM and the Orchestre Métropolitain take great pleasure in offering you this musical gift and hope that many of you will come by to enjoy it.
