MONTRÉAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival’s all-nighter:
the STM and Heritage Montréal invite you to an activity of discovery
le Rallye Métro-Art

Montréal, February 26, 2009 The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and Heritage Montreal are proud to offer all festival-goers, be they individuals, families or groups, a unique activity that will allow them to discover for themselves the marvels of the exceptional public art gallery in the Montréal métro.

Thanks to the Rallye Métro-Art, festival-goers will be able to explore this unknown museum by selecting one of the three suggested itineraries, consisting of fifteen métro stations and fifteen works of arts, thus enabling participants in the rally to test their knowledge and their powers of observation.

The featured artwork will be able to be seen and appreciated without leaving the métro fare zone. Certain of these works are located on the platform level, while others can be found in the area surrounding the turnstiles. A visit to one station and its artwork will take only a few minutes, or participants can stay longer to appreciate the art more fully. The length of the visit is not taken into account in the results.

The rally participation form is available at the following locations:

  • All-Nighter information booth ( February 28 )
  • Old Montréal: at the fête de la lumière site on the Quays of the Old Port (throughout the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival)
  • STM Customer Service Centre: Berri-UQAM, at the counter, as of February 28
  • Place-des-Arts: at the vitrine Culturelle box office
  • Square-Victoria station, at the Rallye Métro-Art booth
  • Plateau Mont-Royal: information booth at the Mont-Royal métro station exit

Where there’s a rally, there are winners. Thus, the week of March 2, the STM will hold a draw from among all those who participated for OPUS cards charged with the monthly CAM pass for April. Details of the rally are available on the Société’s Web site at www.stm.info (click on the “Nuit blanche” icon for access).

The STM and Heritage Montreal hope that plenty of festival-goers will include the Rallye Métro-Art on their list of activities for the All-Nighter!

It goes without saying that the STM is proud of its active and innovative participation in the All-Nighter segment of the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHT Festival, as it clearly reflects the fact that it is an essential partner in major Montréal events. It also shows its willingness to forge closer ties with clients and make transit use easier for them.
