Added service on these bus routes:
70 – Bois-Francs, 164 – Dudemaine and
174 – Côte-Vertu-Ouest

Montréal, June 16, 200
9 The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform clients that starting June 22, service will be added on the 70 – Bois-Francs, 164 – Dudemaine and 174 – Côte-Vertu-Ouest bus routes.

The 70 – Bois-Francs now offers service later in the evening, up until the métro closes. In addition, buses will run every 15 minutes during rush hour, instead of the current 30-minute intervals.

The 164 – Dudemaine route was extended to Steinberg St. as new businesses there do not have access to public transportation services.

The 174 – Côte-Vertu-Ouest will provide midday service between rush hour periods, as well as early evening until 8 p.m. This will help make work schedules more flexible for workers in the West sector of Côte-Vertu Boulevard where the Air Canada Technical Centre, Bombardier Centre and Aéroports de Montréal are located.

Overall, these improvements will result in 17 900 more hours of service annually and require an additional three buses.

“This new offer of service involving the 70 – Bois-Francs, 164 – Dudemaine and 174 – Côte-Vertu-Ouest bus routes is one more step in the ongoing development and improvement of our customer services and clearly reflects the STM’s position in favour of public transit,” declared the Chairman of the STM Board of Directors, Michel Labrecque.

“These improvements are directly related to the STM transit network development plan and are carried out as part of the projects deriving from its service improvement programme (PASTEC), that calls for both network and services being adapted to the needs of expanding sectors and industrial parks in particular,” pointed out Mr. Labrecque.

Clients are invited to consult the summer 2009 Planibus timetables, as they feature the new service schedule with all-day departures. For all other information involving transit trips, clients should call STM-INFO (514-786-4636), consult the new network map or STM website
