The STM will extend Metro service on Lines 1, 2 and 4 on June 30 for the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal

Montréal, June 25, 200
9 Michel Labrecque, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), is pleased to announce to Montrealers that it will extend Metro service by 30 minutes on Lines 1 – Green, 2 – Orange and 4 – Yellow, on the occasion of the opening of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal with Stevie Wonder, this June 30. Thus, the last departure of Lines 1 and 2 will be at 1:05 a.m. and the last departure of Line 4 will be at 1:20 a.m. Moreover, service will be increased on Lines 1 and 2 starting at 7 p.m., with a frequency every 6 to 7 minutes.

“This initiative is part of our partnership with the Montréal Jazz Festival. This partnership is a first of which the STM is particularly proud, because it will be the opportunity to promote public transit and active transportation to everyone visiting the Montreál International Jazz Festival. In exchange, the STM will offer visibility to the Festival and the various shows that will be presented there. This partnership is a good example of the STM’s new positioning, which encourages people to join this vast society in motion” Mr. Labrecque declared.

Given the very large number of trips made during this event, the STM also suggests that they obtain their return ticket in advance, on the way to the Festival, to avoid lineups.

There will be some slight changes in bus service on Lines 55 – Saint-Laurent, 80 – Du Parc, 129 – Côte-Sainte-Catherine and 535 – Du Parc reserved lane, from 6 p.m. to the end of service.

To plan their trips better on this occasion, customers are invited to call A-U-T-O-B-U-S (514-288-6287) in order to obtain the schedules at their bus stop. For any other information, they can call 514-786-4636, STM-INFO.
