STM and Festival du nouveau cinéma together again The bus and métro, a FNC way to see movies

Press release

Montréal, September 21, 2011 –  A key partner to all major events in Montréal, the STM is proud to announce that it is teaming up for a fifth consecutive year with the Festival du nouveau cinéma held October 12 – 23, 2011, when bus and métro once again become indispensable for the 125 000 or so cinephiles expected to attend the 400-plus screenings presented during the FNC’s 40th edition.

2-for-1 offer for Opus cardholders
In an effort to promote greater public transit use by movie buffs, Festival du nouveau cinéma has a special promotion in store for STM customers: Opus cardholders can get two tickets for the price of one for all weekday screenings (Monday-Friday) at the Imperial Cinema and Quartier latin Cineplex theatres.

A second generation of Family Outings promotions!
Furthermore, FNC is joining in the STM’s Family Outings promotion, allowing an adult with a valid fare to take public transit with up to five children under the age of 12 for free on weekends, by inviting kids to take part in their youth activities. Indeed, upon purchasing one adult admission and presenting a valid STM fare, that adult can take up to five children under the age of 12 to see the FNC’s ‘Wee Wolves’ shows for free on October 15, 16, 22 and 23.

Celebrating 150 years of public transit in Montréal
As part of Montreal public transportation’s 150th anniversary, the STM is inviting cinephiles to stop at its photo booth. Participants will be happy to take home a souvenir photo, showing the 150th anniversary colours, and have it sent to them in digital format by email. The STM’s photo booth will be present at a number of different sites throughout the festival.
