October 12 to 14, 2012 Work on the water system at the corner of Saint-Jacques and Greene

Press release

Montréal, October 11, 2012   Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform the public that it will be performing work on the water and sewer system at the corner of Saint-Jacques and Greene streets in Montréal, as part of the bus terminus refurbishing project underway at Lionel-Groulx métro station.

These works will serve to connect the Greene St. sewer line with the existing system. Area residents will not be affected by any water supply cuts.

Because of the construction work, only one lane is open to eastbound traffic on Saint-Jacques St. at the corner of Greene, forcing the cancellation of a few curb-side parking spaces. While work is underway, motorists are invited to travel along Notre-Dame St. south of Saint-Jacques to ease traffic congestion in the area.

The STM also wants to assure the public that every necessary measure was taken to ensure their safety, and that it has made every effort to keep inconvenience to a minimum. For this reason, most of the work will be performed during the weekend.

The public is invited to check the Sud-Ouest Borough’s website at ville.montreal.qc.ca/sud-ouest for more information about these works.
