Montréal, September 25, 2012 – With its strong resolve to promote the best of Montreal’s exhilarating art scene, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is proud to be associated once again with Journées de la culture to celebrate its 16th Edition. From September 28 to 30, under the MétroArts banner, Berri-UQAM métro station will host a dozen free events. Every day, four events will be presented to audiences that range from dance to improvisation along with vocal performances and theatre.
Before every show, historical vignettes presented by characters depicting Sieur de Maisonneuve, Paul de Chomedey, and Jeanne Mance to recall the founding of the city in 1642 will also highlight the city’s upcoming 375th anniversary celebrations.

Take full advantage of Journées de la culture events thanks to the Unlimited Evening pass and the Family Outings program.
The Unlimited Evening pass allows for unlimited travel between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning. The pass holder can travel as often as required throughout the STM bus and métro network, according to day and night schedules excluding the 747 bus line. However, the pass must be used at least once before midnight to be valid.
As for Family Outings, this program provides one adult with a valid transit pass the possibility of traveling at no extra cost throughout the STM network with up to five children under 12 on Saturdays, Sundays and on legal holidays.

Making the public transit experience more enjoyable for customers and transforming the métro into a theatre featuring original and unique cultural events is a commitment the STM has maintained by creating the MétroArts program.
