Strategic plan 2025: the STM calls on transit customers to submit their ideas

Press release

As part of the STM’s review of its strategic plan, the chairman of the board of directors, Philippe Schnobb, is calling on customers to contribute to the discussion and help determine the priority actions that will guide the STM to 2025.

Montréal, April 6, 2015 – As part of the STM’s review of its strategic plan, the chairman of the board of directors, Philippe Schnobb, is calling on customers to contribute to the discussion and help determine the priority actions that will guide the STM to 2025.

From April 7 to 24, customers will have the opportunity to answer a survey under the theme « 2025: Let’s chart a course together », either through the My voice my STM panel or directly on the STM’s website, and share their ideas for future public transit services. Thanks to this survey, customers can submit up to three ideas that could alter their transit experience, from planning their trip to purchasing fares to every other aspect of their public transit ride.

Mr. Schnobb was quoted as saying « The STM wants customers to contribute to public transit’s growth by using this survey to speak out and share their ideas, especially about ways to improve their experience in our bus and métro networks. It’s important for us to hear what our customers have to say; they are central to this process ».

As required by the Act respecting public transit authorities, in 2015, the STM must initiate a review of its strategic plan for the 2016-2025 horizon. This plan outlines the main policies that will guide the STM’s development. It will also build on a number of other documents, including the Montréal metropolitan region’s land-use plan, the Montréal agglomeration’s development plan, the 2013-2020 action plan for climate change, among others.

To answer this survey, transit customers can go to the STM website at www.stm.info. The survey will be on line as of April 7.
