The STM to add bus service to the 25 Angus as of June 17

Press release

Service enhancement to the 25 Angus line as of June 17, 2019

Montréal, June 11, 2019 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing a service enhancement to the 25 Angus line as of June 17, 2019.

The STM will extend service on the 25 Angus from Monday to Friday at night and outside of peak periods, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This will provide customers with service every 30 minutes on average during these periods, offering Technopôle Angus workers and area residents greater access to public transportation.

Service enhancements on this line were also made in January during morning and afternoon peak periods. The frequency of service currently varies between 10 and 20 minutes during these periods.

Philippe Schnobb, Chairman of the board of directors, stated: “This improvement to public transit service was prompted by the increased ridership on the line ever since its extension to Préfontaine station in 2016, as well as the growing number of dwellings in the area and its status as an expanding employment hub.”

“This enhanced service linking the Angus area to Rosemont station will certainly encourage local residents and workers to adopt a green, public mode of transportation, which will benefit our environment and everyone’s quality of life,” added François William Croteau, Mayor of the Borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.

We welcome all increases in public transit service,” added Pierre Lessard-Blais, Mayor of the Borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. “In this case, it will better connect the Hochelaga and Rosemont neighbourhoods. In more concrete terms, it will allow the residents of Hochelaga to more easily take advantage of the services offered by Technopôle Angus, which they will surely appreciate.”
