At 8 p.m. on Friday, August 2, at the Petit Medley (6206 St-Hubert Street), the Étoiles du métro – the musical stars of the STM’s underground transit system - will give a special benefit concert for the residents of Lac-Mégantic. All funds raised will go to the Red Cross to help those affected by the disaster.

This show will be a repeat of the Étoiles du métro performance planned as part of the Fête nationale celebrations, which had to be cancelled due to rain.

The concert will bring together more than thirty of the Montréal métro’s finest musicians, including Street Meat, Flashback, Sherlock, and Boléro. The Étoiles will also welcome some special guest artists, including Benoît Piché and Benoît Gagné (from Les Colocs) and Jamil, who will host the show. Writer Dany Laferrière will begin the evening with a reading from one of his works.

Concert tickets are on sale now for $15. They may be purchased via the Admission network, at the door of the Petit Medley on the evening of the event, or by contacting the Regroupement des musiciens du Métro de Montréal (RMMM) at musimetromontreal@hotmail.com or at 514 729-6874.

Benefit concert supported by the STM and the Petit Medley
The Étoiles du métro program was launched by the STM in 2012 to enhance the image of métro musicians and provide them with greater visibility and promotional support. This initiative, part of the drive to improve customer experience, aims to enrich the musical repertoire performed in métro stations and promote the careers of talented musicians. Sixty talented groups and individual musicians participate in the 2013 edition of the program.
