The STM is actively seeking a new member aged under 35 to represent public transit customers on its Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has launched a call for applications to recruit a new member aged under 35 to represent public transit customers. The move comes as Claudia Lacroix Perron, who has held the position since 2011, wraps up her final term.
“It’s one of my deepest convictions that a board of directors like the STM’s must represent the population it serves,” says Éric Alan Caldwell, chair of the STM Board of Directors. “We’re looking to fill an essential role that helps us give a voice to our customers and to a generation that is under-represented in this type of job. If you want to use your expertise to improve sustainable mobility, I encourage you to apply. The selection process will be open, robust and transparent.”
Call for applications
Those interested have until November 17 to apply by visiting the STM website, where they’ll find the application form, details on the role, and a list of the skills and qualifications required.
The process for reviewing the applications showing the strongest potential will be coordinated by the STM Corporate Secretariat. The final selection will be made by the City of Montréal, acting through its agglomeration council, by mid‑December 2024.
In an effort to reach as many potential candidates as possible, the STM will be using its newsletter, website, virtual press room, and main social media channels, as well as other digital communication tools, to get the word out about the call for applications.
