Construction of the Lisieux auxiliary building will begin in August. Preparatory work will be done first. The final construction site will be in place from August 10 for several years.
Join your local good neighbour committee!
Do you live near the future Viau station or de Lisieux auxiliary building and want to have your say in how the Blue Line Project worksites will fit into your neighbourhood?
A good neighbour committee has been set up as a space for dialogue between the Blue line project and the local community. We’re currently looking for people who live in the area to join the committee and represent local residents at a few meetings per year.
For now, discussions will focus on the Viau station worksite, but the Lisieux auxiliary building worksite will also be addressed when it’s set up in 2025.
The committee’s purpose is to:
- Provide information and outline the different phases of the project.
- Start a dialogue between residents and project representatives that will continue throughout the work.
- Discuss how the impact of the work will be managed so that resident members can share this information with their local community.
- Understand the concerns residents have about the work and find solutions together.
- Allow local residents to make suggestions on specific topics chosen by the project office.
Write to us to apply or to find out more.
Good to know
- Access to businesses and homes will be maintained at all times.
- Signs will guide pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
- Trucking routes have been identified to limit truck traffic near pedestrian corridors. The main roads will be used.
- To reduce nuisance to residents, appropriate mitigation measures are in place. In particular, noise abatement walls will be installed at the site perimeter.
Impact for pedestrians
- The sidewalk on the south side of Rue des Angevins will be blocked by the construction site. Pedestrians will be able to cross and walk on the other side of the street, on the sidewalk along the park.
- The school drop-off lane in the closed section will be moved across the street, westbound.
- Flaggers are posted at entrances and exits to keep pedestrians safe.
- Be vigilant and make sure you cross at the traffic signals, use pedestrian crossings and comply with all instructions issued by traffic controllers.
Impact on traffic
- From August 4 to 8, work will be carried out on the Rue des Angevins median. Only one lane will be maintained in each direction.
- As of August 10, Rue des Angevins will be accessible only via Rue Jean-Talon, westbound.
Upcoming excavation work
Full and partial street closures are planned at various points along the route and will last for varying lengths of time. Detailed planning is not yet available for your area. In the meantime, please see the Latest Updates and FAQ tabs on the project page for more information on the high-level planning.

At Le Boulevard Shopping Centre
An auxiliary building is a service building, closed to the public and located between two métro stations, that houses a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment needed for métro operations. This includes ventilation equipment, power supply infrastructure and pumps to remove runoff water. There are currently hundreds of these buildings in the métro network.
