Everyone could use a seat: the STM invites riders to be courteous to one another

News

For the past few days now, Montréal transit users can view the STM’s new ad campaign in buses and in the métro. With a series of visuals illustrating the « Everyone could use a seat » theme, the STM is promoting courtesy among its customers and urges the public to pay more attention to other passengers who, for one reason or another, could be in need of a seat. Through this action, the STM is hoping to make transit use more appealing and safe for everyone. That aspect of the relationship between transit users has in fact been the subject of a number of recurring comments and complaints.

The campaign will extend over an eight-week period and feature banners placed at the top of windows inside certain métro cars (eight decorated trains on the Green line with three banners per car and 12 decorated trains on the Orange line with two such banners per car). Poster ads will also be installed inside 500 buses, while social media plays its part in the campaign, along with articles in the INFO STM page of the 24 H newspaper.
