The STM announces the suspension of non-essential activities in métro stations

As of today, the STM is announcing the implementation of new temporary measures that apply to all métro stations. The suspension of activities that are not directly related to the STM’s mission aims to promote compliance with physical distancing measures and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Musicians in the métro
Performances in the métro are suspended until further notice. Signs will be posted to indicate the closure of areas designated for such performances. Performances are not authorized anywhere in the stations at any time.

Soliciting
Soliciting for fundraising purposes is no longer permitted.

Distribution of printed material
The distribution of free printed material in person (e.g., books, newspapers, pamphlets, leaflets, brochures or any other printed material) is no longer permitted.
