The STM welcomed yesterday the first of 17 new AZUR trains intended for the Green line.
On Thursday, the Société de transport de Montréal welcomed the first of 17 new AZUR trains intended for the Green line, which will be put into service within a few days. The remaining 16 will be delivered by 2021 at a rate of one train per month.
The arrival of these additional trains will allow the STM to considerably enhance its customers’ travel experience by increasing the number of AZUR trains running on the Green line.
Riders will enjoy these modern, high-performance and more comfortable trains with 8% more space and improved ventilation.
Thanks to the support of the governments of Canada and Quebec and the agglomeration of Montreal, these 17 new trains will be added to the 54 already running on the Orange and Green lines, which were put into service between 2016 and 2019.
