209 – Des Sources: The STM extends it from
Dorval train station to Montréal-Pierre-Élliott-Trudeau International Airport

Montréal, August 20, 200
9 The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is pleased to announce that the 209 – Des Sources bus route has now been extended. Serving the Deux-Montagnes commuter train, the bus route runs from Roxboro-Pierrefonds train station to Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, and is timed to the train schedule. The bus route also serves the Dorion-Rigaud commuter line by maintaining its access to Dorval bus terminal.

“As part of our service improvement programme, this initiative is essentially designed to increase ridership and provide Montrealers with a more performance-driven transit network,” declared Michel Labrecque, Chairman of the STM Board of Directors. “While extending the 209 – Des Sources bus route means increasing service by 3500 hours a year, it will also offer a more direct access to the airport area where thousands of people go to work each day.”

“The announcement of the 209 – Des Sources route extension will afford transit users and travellers improved access to the Montréal-Trudeau airport sector, as well as greater access to the various means of transportation serving the Dorval hub. Thus, City of Dorval residents will also benefit,” explained Edgar Rouleau, Mayor of Dorval.

“I salute the efforts designed to encourage the use of public transit. What I appreciate even more is the particular attention given to improving the synchronization between bus and commuter train schedules. That is, without a doubt, an important factor that will persuade an even larger number of citizens of leaving their car behind and use transit instead,” added Monique Worth, Mayor of Pierrefonds-Roxboro Borough.

The STM invites transit users to look up the 209 Planibus for its new timetable featuring all-day departures. For all other transit trip information, clients can call STM-INFO (514-786-4636), or consult the STM network map or website for more transit related information.
