International Public Notice on the
Montréal métro car replacement project:
Two companies express their interest

Montréal, March 1, 2010
When the deadline set out in the international public notice published January 22, 2010, was reached at 3 p.m. today, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) had received two expressions of interest: the first from Construcciones Y Auxiliar De Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF), and the second from ZhuZhou Electric Locomotive (ZELC).

The STM will diligently and rigorously analyze the documents submitted by CAF and ZELC to determine if those expressions of interest comply with the requirements outlined in the international public notice, particularly with respect to the technology involved (including cars running on rubber tires), Canadian content (60%), technical efficiency, financial capacity, as well as delivery deadlines.

While reviewing the compliance of each expression of interest, the STM may also call upon the services of experts in the field. The STM will announce the conclusions drawn from its analyses as soon as possible. Until then, it will make no further comments regarding the documents received.
