My Alerts Montréal, November 23, 2012 – This year, Operation Red Nose Montréal and the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) have joined forces once again to encourage people to consume alcohol responsibly by offering safe alternatives to get home, notably in public transit. Whether you have had one too many or you are just overtired, it is not worth putting your life or the lives of others in danger by getting behind the wheel.
The STM has put together a gift bag of tips to help you enjoy the Holidays to the fullest. City dwellers will find information to plan their rides more effectively and to make their Holiday celebrations even more enjoyable. Your Holiday bag of tips includes:
Celebrate to the fullest with the Unlimited Evening pass:
The Unlimited Evening pass, if activated once before midnight, is perfect for your busy evenings. For $4, night owls can ride as often as they wish throughout the STM network, even from Longueuil and Laval métro stations from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
After midnight, try the all-night bus network!
The STM all-night network features 23 night bus lines in service every night every day of the week.
Ladies, you can exit between stops
The Between Stops service is geared to women who travel alone at night. By asking the driver at least one stop ahead of time to let you exit the bus, the driver will be pleased to comply provided a stop can be made safely at the requested location.
Return home earlier if you want
If your celebrations wrap up before the métro closes for the day and before the end of regular bus service, the website www.stm.info is your solution to access all schedules and métro intervals.
Access schedules via your cell phone
Schedules of upcoming buses at stops can be accessed via your smart phone on the STM mobile site or by SMS messaging. For all other cell phones, you can always call: 514 288-6287 (A-U-T-O-B-U-S).
Download iPhone and Android applications to keep on track
iPhone and Android applications offer the best itinerary to reach your destination based on the user profile. And for those who have partied too much, geolocalisation allows to get your bearings quickly by identifying the location of bus stops and nearby métro stations in addition to your schedules.
