New: Reimbursement of the March 2020 debit for your April pass

Eligible subscribers to the OPUS à l’année and OPUS & Cie programs may suspend their subscription, if necessary, from January to March 2021, inclusive. Refer to the following section for more details.

COVID-19: new extension of the suspension offer

In April 2020, the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) offered active subscribers to the OPUS à l’année and OPUS & Cie programs the option to suspend their subscriptions due to the public health emergency.

This offer included:

  • Payment, to be applied after the lifting of the state of emergency, of the value of the monthly fare subscription debited in March;
  • Suspension of payments for the May and June 2020 monthly fare subscriptions;
  • A first extension of the debit suspension to cover the July and August fares.

In light of how the situation has developed, the ARTM is again extending its suspension offer this fall. Eligible subscribers may suspend debits and the use of their fare subscriptions until the end of 2020, while retaining the advantages associated with their subscriptions.

This extension is once again prolonged until March 2021, inclusive. Thus, the first three months of 2021 are added to the suspension offer. It will be possible for subscribers whose subscription is currently active to benefit for the first time or to reactivate the suspension for these three months.

If your subscription is currently suspended, the extension is automatic. No action is required if you would like to continue the suspension.

COVID-19: reimbursement of the March 2020 payment

If you are an OPUS à l’année or OPUS & Cie subscriber and you made a suspension request prior to April 13, 2020, the payment debited in March for the April fare will automatically be reimbursed to you by the end of 2020. All affected clients will be sent an information email in this regard by the end of the year.

Please ensure that your customer account is in order and that your banking information is valid.

  • The payments are suspended until February 15 inclusively.

This new suspension offer is available for OPUS à l’année or OPUS & Cie subscribers.

Customers who activated the suspension of their membership before June 11, 2020, and whose membership has not been reactivated since then will see the suspension of their membership extended automatically until March 2021 inclusively.

Customers who have reactivated their subscriptions or who have never taken advantage of the suspension offer before, can sign up for the new suspension offer for the months of January, February and March 2021 before December 11, 2020.

  • The suspension will continue automatically for already registered customers.
  • The debits scheduled until February 15, 2021 inclusively are suspended.
  • Subscription debits will resume on March 15 for the April 2021 fare.
  • The payment made in March 2020 will be reimbursed before the end of 2020. Please see the “reimbursement of the March 2020 debit” section for all of the details.
  • This means that subscribers may start using their subscriptions again as of April 1, 2021 or as of the month after the reactivation of their subscription.

Note that if you reactivate your subscription after December 10, 2020, you will not be able to reactivate the suspension afterwards.

Providing false or misleading information to receive a fare reduction constitutes fraud and is subject to criminal prosecution.

Customers who provide false or misleading information could have their OPUS card deactivated and will not be able to take advantage of the Offer.

This offer cannot be combined with any other fare offer.

Suspended fares do not constitute valid fares, and their eventual use during the suspension period constitutes an offence.

Under this exceptional measure, no amount will be charged to your account for the months listed below, and you will maintain your subscription privileges.

Customers who suspend their subscriptions and wish to use public transit for their occasional trips during the suspension are responsible for obtaining a valid transit fare on a card other than the one used for their subscription.

This offer applies to subscribers of the OPUS à l’année and OPUS & Cie programs (as well as exo’s OPUS+ and OPUS+ entreprise programs), who cannot use public transit due to the public health emergency.

Monthly passes purchased from OPUS en ligne, a fare vending machine, an authorized retailer or a ticket agent are not eligible for this ARTM initiative.

Yes, all customers subscribed to the OPUS à l’année or OPUS & Cie programs are eligible.

Your subscription will be suspended up to and including the month of March 2021. Refer to the conditions in the following scroll-down menu.

You may cancel the fare suspension through the subscription platform depending on your situation:

  • Until November 10 inclusive to reactivate your December 2020 subscription;
  • Between November 11 and December 10 inclusive to reactivate your January 2021 subscription.
  • Between December 11, 2020 and January 10, 2021 inclusive to reactivate your February 2021 subscription.
  • between January 11, 2021 and February 10, 2021 inclusive to reactivate your March 2021 subscription.

If you do not take action before February 11, 2021, your fare subscription will be automatically reactivated on April 1, 2021.  Payment for this fare subscription will be debited on March 15, 2021.

Yes, if you are eligible, the debit made March 15 will be reimbursed automatically before the end of 2020. Go to the “reimbursement of the March 2020 debit” section for all of the details.

 

Yes, you will retain all the advantages associated with your subscriber profile, including Maestro, the loyalty fare and the BIXI promotions.

No, you cannot continue to use your OPUS card on which your subscription is loaded during these months of suspension, but keep it, as you can continue to use it once your subscription is reactivated.

As your subscription is suspended, it is your responsibility to purchase another valid transit fare using a different OPUS card than the one provided to you for free for your transit subscription.

You can also purchase some transit fares on L’Occasionnelle chip cards or magnetic fare cards.

Yes, you can reactivate your public transit subscription. However, when you cancel your subscription, you automatically lose your acquired benefits.

Yes, you can request to have your subscription suspended again. Your benefits will be calculated as soon as you reactivate it again.

If you already have suspended your subscription, the suspension will be extended automatically.

If you have not suspended your subscription yet, you have until December 10 to request the suspension on the online platform.

The ARTM reserves the right to modify, suspend or withdraw this fare offer without notice.

Make your life easier

The basic idea

The advantages

On the 12th day of the first month and the 15th day of each subsequent month, the cost of the monthly pass will be automatically debited to your bank account or credit card, whichever you choose.


Your monthly fares will automatically be loaded on your OPUS card. No need to think about it, no need for extra trips every month!

You'll receive a new OPUS card free of charge. Your card will be activated and ready for use from the very first day of the month your subscription begins. If you did not receive your OPUS card on the first day of the month, go to one of the STM customer service points to get a new card free of charge.

Have you lost your card? No problem! As it is now registered. Go to a point of service with a photo ID. You will be given a new OPUS card charged with any fares remaining on the old card. You will pay only the cost of a new OPUS card.

 

Your subscription to the program remains in effect each month until you decide to terminate it. You cannot suspend your annual subscription. Once it is cancelled, you will lose all the benefits associated with your annual subscription. 

To cancel your subscription, you must inform us before the 10th day of the month in which you want it to end. For example, if you want to terminate your subscription on October 31, you must advise us before October 10.

When does your subscription begin?

Subscribe before the 11th of the month to have your subscription begin the first of the following month.

For example,

  • If you subscribe on October 8, your subscription will begin on November 1.
  • If you subscribe on October 14, your subscription will begin on December 1.

The basic idea 

  • You subscribe online. 
  • Once your registration is completed, you print your confirmation email and go to a Customer Service Centre to obtain your photo ID OPUS card, which will be loaded with monthly passes. If you already have a photo ID OPUS card, you may choose to keep it (until its expiry date) or get a new card at the rate in force. In both cases, you will have to visit the Customer Service Centre to activate your subscription.
  • The first debit will be applied at the Customer Service Centre. Then you will pay each month by automatically debiting your bank account or your credit card, until you end your subscription.

It’s that simple.

When will your subscription begin?

After subscribing online and printing your confirmation email, visit a Customer Service Centre to obtain your photo ID OPUS card. For your subscription to be valid in the current month, visit the Customer Service Centre no later than the 10th day of the month. As of the 11th day, your subscription will be valid for the following month.

For example:

  • If you visit on October 10, your subscription will begin for the current month (October) or November 1, as you choose.
  • If you visit on October 11, your subscription will begin only on November 1.

Lost or damaged card

In the event of a lost or damaged card, go to the STM Customer service centre or one of its service points as soon as possible to have it replaced.

Upon presentation of personal identification and validation of your subscription, a new OPUS card will be issued in your name containing the monthly fare that was already on the lost or damaged card. You will be charged the replacement fee currently in effect.

Unsubscribing

Your subscription to the program will continue each month, until you decide to end it. You may terminate your subscription by giving advance notice by email to stm@fusiumsolutions.com, by phone to 514-333-9815 or via your online account.

Texte important

A request for such cancellation received between the 11th day of the preceding month and the 10th day (inclusively) of the current month will take effect on the last day of that month. 
For example: to cancel your subscription at December 31, your cancellation notification must be received by the STM between November 11 and December 10 inclusively. If the notice is received on December 11 or later, the subscription will end January 31.
