On this April 22, it is worth keeping in mind that every small action does make a difference for our planet. For this reason, the STM in association with Jour de la Terre Québec and CAA-Québec will hand out OPUS cards loaded with 10 single tickets to some 2,500 Montréal motorists, so that they may give public transit a try and give more thought to their mobility. 

À la suite de l’annonce de la CDPQ Infra, filiale de la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, sur le nouveau Réseau électrique métropolitain (REM), la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) salue cette une bonne nouvelle pour le transport collectif du Grand Montréal. La STM offrira sa collaboration et son expertise avec les différents intervenants tout au long des étapes menant à la réalisation de ce projet porteur.

En ce 22 avril, il est bon de rappeler que pour faire une différence pour notre planète, tous les gestes comptent. C’est pourquoi, en association avec le Jour de la terre et CAA-Québec, la STM remettra à 2500 automobilistes montréalais une carte OPUS chargée de 10 passages, pour leur permettre de faire l’essai du transport collectif et repenser leur mobilité.

In collaboration with STM and AMT, the police departments of Montréal, Laval and Longueuil today launched their « Réagissez – dénoncez » campaign. The goal: reminding transit users of the importance of taking action and reporting sexual assaults and offences that may occur in the public transit system.

Even if such behaviours are infrequent, the police departments invite anyone who is a victim or a witness to react and report these offences by calling 9-1-1 or contacting a police officer.

En collaboration avec la STM et l’AMT, les services de police des villes de Montréal, Laval et Longueuil lancent ce matin la campagne « Réagissez – dénoncez ». L’objectif : rappeler aux usagers qu’il est important d’agir et de dénoncer les agressions et les incivilités de nature sexuelle qui pourraient survenir en transport collectif.

The STM salutes the work of the Montréal police department (SPVM) that led to the arrest of three people with regards to them illegally entering metro installations, filming their intrusion and posting it on social media.

A plan to secure STM installations was implemented several years ago and has been constantly improved upon since. In this particular instance, the site was quickly secured once their entry point was identified. The métro system is one of the safest in the world and features over 2000 surveillance cameras along with other security measures.
