Starting Monday, the two 470 - Express Pierrefonds bus stops will be relocated within the Terminus Fairview grounds.
An assessment of bus operations in the sector in the past week proved unsatisfactory. Accordingly, the STM took steps to relocate the 470 bus stops within the terminus area. Bus stops for other bus lines will remain on Brunswick boulevard.
À compter de lundi, les arrêts de la ligne 470 - Express Pierrefonds seront intégrés à l'intérieur du périmètre du terminus Fairview.
Après évaluation, la situation opérationnelle de la dernière semaine n'était pas satisfaisante. C’est pourquoi la STM a décidé de faire les ajustements nécessaires pour ramener la ligne 470 dans le terminus. Des arrêts de d'autres lignes de bus demeureront toutefois sur la rue Brunswick.
Several years ago, the STM undertook to improve the quality of its public address system inside métro stations so that more messages could be broadcast and information could be more clearly understood by passengers.
One must understand that a station’s public address system is basically made up of loudspeakers and acoustic sensors. The latter serve to adjust the loudness of messages, thanks to their ability to detect ambient noise levels. Indeed, the level of noise on a platform as the train arrives is quite different from the noise level at the station’s entrance.
Afin de maximiser la diffusion des messages d’information et pour faciliter leur compréhension, la STM a entrepris, il y a quelques années, d’améliorer la sonorisation dans ses stations de métro.
Il faut comprendre que le système de sonorisation d’une station de métro est principalement composé de haut-parleurs et de capteurs de bruit. Ces derniers permettent d’ajuster l’intensité sonore des messages, grâce à leur capacité à détecter le niveau de bruit avoisinant. Ainsi, le niveau sonore est différent sur le quai à l’arrivée d’un train ou à l’entrée de la station.
The Berri entrance to Berri-UQAM station will be closed January 13 - 16 while existing doors are replaced by new pivoting doors, putting the final touch on renovations to the entrance building carried out in 2013.
While work is underway, clients can enter the station from the Sainte-Catherine entrance. STM employees will be on hand the first day to direct passengers.

Du 13 au 16 janvier 2014, l’édicule Berri de la station Berri-UQAM sera fermé afin de procéder au remplacement des portes actuelles par de nouvelles portes-papillon.
Ces travaux permettront à la STM de mettre la touche finale à la réfection de l’édicule réalisée en 2013. Pendant ces quatre jours, les clients pourront accéder à la station Berri-UQAM par l’édicule Sainte-Catherine. La première journée des travaux, des employés de la STM seront sur place pour guider la clientèle dans ses déplacements.
