Montréal, August 9, 2018 — Following months of efforts in good faith to reach an agreement with its maintenance employees union, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has decided to submit an official request for a mediator, by virtue of the Act respecting the process of negotiation of collective agreements and the settlement of disputes in the municipal sector, in order to break the current negotiation deadlock, in the best interests of transit users.
Montréal, le 9 août 2018 – Après plusieurs mois de démarches menées de bonne foi pour en venir à une entente avec le Syndicat du personnel d’entretien, la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) demandera officiellement l’intervention d’un médiateur, tel que le prévoit la Loi concernant le régime de négociation des conventions collectives et de règlement des différends dans le secteur municipal, afin de dénouer l’impasse qui s’installe, et ce, au bénéfice de ses clients.
As of today, students from seven Montréal education institutions can get their OPUS photo card directly via their educational institution’s website. Participating institutions include Concordia University, McGill University, Université de Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), UQAM and Louis-Riel high school. The goal of this service is to make life easier for students and parents.
Dès aujourd’hui, les étudiants de sept établissements scolaires montréalais peuvent obtenir en ligne leur carte OPUS avec photo, directement à partir du site de leur institution d’enseignement. Il s’agit de l’Université Concordia, McGill, l’Université de Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, l’École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) et l’UQAM, ainsi que l’école secondaire Louis-Riel. L’objectif derrière ce service est de faciliter la vie des étudiants et des parents.
Montréal, July 3, 2018 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing the implementation of bus priority measures on the Notre-Dame Est corridor, including a section of René-Lévesque Boulevard, as of Monday, July 9, 2018. These measures affect the Ville-Marie and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve boroughs.
Montréal, le 3 juillet 2018 – La STM annonce la mise en service de mesures préférentielles pour bus (MPB) sur l’axe Notre-Dame Est, incluant un tronçon sur le boulevard René-Lévesque, et ce, à compter du lundi 9 juillet 2018. Ces mesures touchent les arrondissements de Ville-Marie et de Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
On Tuesday, July 2, the STM will launch its SMOG campaign, just as temperatures forecasted for the next few days are expected to increase smog levels. The goal is to help improve air quality by raising the awareness of motorists and encouraging them to change their habits by using public transit, especially on smog days.
For summer 2018, the STM will be handing out more than 40,000 free two-trip fare cards to motorists so they can try out public transit and maybe start using it, even if only occasionally.
Alors que la température annoncée pour les prochains jours sera propice à la formation de smog, la STM lancera la semaine prochaine sa campagne SMOG.
