"The exercise highlighted that transit agencies know their organizations well, both their strengths and areas for improvement, and did not wait for external auditors to take action on several optimization avenues and have identified others for the future. I’m proud the STM was the transit organization that presented the most optimization avenues in the process," said Marie-Claude Léonard, General Manager of STM.

Rappelons que le bris de conduite d’eau est survenu tôt en matinée, vendredi sur le boulevard de Maisonneuve, entre les rues Elm et Greene, aux abords de la station Lionel-Groulx. Des interventions d’urgence ont été réalisées pour tenter de limiter l’infiltration de l’eau et d’en pomper le maximum vers l’extérieur.

Le conseil d’administration de la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) lance l’appel à candidatures visant à recruter une nouvelle administratrice ou un nouvel administrateur âgé de moins de 35 ans et représentant la clientèle du transport collectif. Cette initiative est déployée alors que le mandat de Mme Claudia Lacroix Perron, qui occupe ce rôle depuis 2011, touche à sa fin. 

October 25, 2024 - Preparatory work for the Blue line extension project continues to move ahead on Jean-Talon Street East. That work will see the Blue line project office and the STM open a new reserved lane on Bélanger Street on Monday, October 28. Reserved for buses, taxis and bikes, the lane will make it easier for people to get around in the area during construction of the Blue line.

Montréal, le 25 octobre 2024 - La mobilisation des travaux associée au prolongement de la ligne bleue se poursuit sur la rue Jean-Talon Est. Dans ce contexte, le bureau de Projet ligne Bleue (PLB) et la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) annoncent la mise en service de la voie réservée sur la rue Bélanger à compter du lundi 28 octobre. Cette voie réservée aux bus, taxis et vélos permettra de faciliter la mobilité dans le secteur pendant les travaux.

Montreal, October 25, 2024 – Following the closure of Saint-Michel Station earlier this month, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wants to inform its customers about the progress of the work in preparation for a potential reopening of the station in the coming weeks.

Current Situation

In recent weeks, the STM's multidisciplinary teams have been actively analyzing and seeking solutions to secure the site and renovate the affected structural elements, ensuring a safe reopening of Saint-Michel Station as soon as possible.

Montréal, 25 octobre 2024 – Dans la foulée de la fermeture de la station Saint-Michel survenue au début du mois, la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) souhaite informer sa clientèle de l’état d’avancement des travaux en prévision d’une réouverture éventuelle de la station au cours de prochaines semaines.

État de la situation

Technical modifications to the signaling and train control systems have been completed to allow reversing maneuvers from Iberville station. To carry out these modifications, the STM had to design them, then validate them as well as ensure that the premises were secure enough to allow its employees safe access. Faced with an exceptional situation, the STM acted quickly to allow both stations to reopen.
