Montréal, le 18 novembre 2020 - Malgré la pandémie, la STM garde le cap sur plusieurs projets majeurs qui auront un impact concret sur la mobilité des Montréalais pour les années à venir. L’électrification du réseau de surface, une priorité stratégique de la STM, s’y inscrit et c’est dans un avenir rapproché, à compter de 2025, que la Société n’achètera que des véhicules 100 % électriques. À cette fin, la STM doit procéder à d’importants travaux d’adaptation de ses installations.

The work will continue until fall 2023 and involve the construction of two new entrance buildings to replace both underground entrances. The area next to the station will also be redone. 

 The station will remain open for the duration of the work, but the two underground entrances will be closed. The station will be accessible only by the main entrance building during the work.

Ces travaux, qui s’échelonneront jusqu’à l’automne 2023, nécessiteront la construction de deux nouveaux édicules pour remplacer les deux accès souterrains. La place adjacente à la station sera également refaite. 

La station demeurera ouverte tout au long des travaux, mais les deux accès souterrains seront fermés. Ainsi, l’édicule principal sera le seul accès à la station de métro pendant les travaux.

La station Place-Saint-Henri est la 42e station la plus achalandée du réseau 2 867 001 entrants au total en 2019, avec une moyenne de 10 224 entrants par jour de semaine.

In the interest of responsible project management, the STM has decided to issue a notice of default to EDT GCV Civil s.e.p., comprised of EBC inc., Dragados Canada Inc. and Groupe TNT Inc., the companies currently performing excavation, concrete and backfilling work as part of the Côte-Vertu garage project. The notice states that the company has five days to provide the STM with satisfactory solutions to a number of breaches of contract in order to control costs and limit schedule delays.

En gestionnaire de projet responsable, la STM prend la décision de transmettre un avis de défaut à EDT GCV Civil s.e.p., formé de EBC inc., Dragados Canada Inc. et Groupe TNT Inc.,  responsable de l’excavation, du bétonnage et du remblaiement dans le cadre du projet du garage Côte-Vertu. Selon cet avis, l’entreprise dispose de cinq jours pour proposer à la STM des solutions satisfaisantes à plusieurs défauts contractuels, pour un meilleur contrôle des coûts et limiter les retards dans l’échéancier.

Montréal, November 12, 2020 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM), principal contractor of the Blue line extension, welcomes the filing of the report of the Commission that led the public consultation process deployed in February and March. A number of the recommendations contained in the report confirm that the STM’s efforts are on track, and the STM will take the aspects raised by the commissioners into consideration to enhance the project.

Montréal, le 12 novembre 2020 – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM), maître d’ouvrage du prolongement de la ligne bleue, accueille favorablement le dépôt du rapport de la Commission qui présidait la démarche de consultation publique tenue en février et mars derniers. Plusieurs des recommandations confirment que le travail de la STM progresse déjà dans la bonne direction et la Société prendra en considération les éléments soulevés par les commissaires pour contribuer à enrichir le projet.

The loss of revenue combined with the costs related to the major health measures that we have implemented sent us into a serious financial crisis. Since the start of the pandemic, the STM has been committed to doing everything possible to ensure the safety of its public transit network for users and employees and throughout its facilities. Continuing this commitment, it has adopted a new program implemented by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) aimed at restoring users’ confidence and encouraging them to use public transit despite the pandemic.
