Location: bridge between the platforms
Situated below the station’s light shaft, these two sculptures pay homage to the thousands of men and women who worked to build the Montréal métro. Created from dark orange steel tubes, they represent the stylized forms of two workers working with a pick-axe and shovel.

The conical steel members that make up these sculptures were recycled from street lamps.
About the artist
Born in Sainte-Perpétue-de-Nicolet, Germain Bergeron (1933-2017) was well known for his audacity and humour. His works, often on a massive scale, are frank expressions of his opinions on life, and never fail to provoke strong reactions.
