Representing a handshake transforming into a long vertical loop reminiscent of the route of a métro line, this sculpture pays tribute to the employees of the Bureau de transport métropolitain (BTM) who built the métro extensions. This artwork evokes the link that the métro represents in many peoples’ lives.

Did you know?

The BTM oversaw the construction of 39 métro stations, in addition to the Blue line section of Jean-Talon station.

About the artist

Born in Quebec City in 1976, Catherine Sylvain lives and works in Montréal. Her artistic approach aims to better understand the elements that form and transform human beings and their relationships throughout their lives. This exploration leads to the design of artworks featuring bodies or body parts.
