Using public transit with a mobility aid

Customers with a mobility aid

If you use a mobility aid, like a cane, walker or walking frame, you can now ask the driver to extend the front or rear access ramp so you may board the bus more easily.

How to enjoy this service ?

  • You must ask the bus driver, as the ramp is not automatically extended.
  • Make sure the bus stops at your point of departure and destination are accessible. You can find that information:

Aboard the bus

Did you know that the driver can lower the floor at the front of the bus to sidewalk level, regardless of whether you use a mobility aid or not? For most people who experience difficulties boarding or exiting the bus, this is usually enough. We suggest that you ask the driver to lower the floor before requesting that the ramp be extended.
