Preventive closure of Saint-Michel métro station
Reopening of Fabre and D'Iberville métro stations at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9.
Context
Construction work currently underway at Saint-Michel station has revealed a major deterioration of the main beams above the footbridge, resulting in the immediate closure of the station.
Special shuttle bus service
Although it is not possible to compensate for the capacity that the métro can support, a special shuttle bus service is in operation between Saint-Michel and D'Iberville stations, in both directions.
This shuttle is in service from métro opening to closing. Service and frequency are adjusted in real-time on site to deploy vehicles optimally. Here is the list of stops.
Eastbound, to Saint-Michel métro station:
- D'Iberville station: stop 51567 (D'Iberville / Jean-Talon)
- Saint-Michel station: end of the line (terminus) on Saint-Michel boulevard, north of Shaughnessy street.
Westbound, to D'Iberville métro station:
- Saint-Michel station: stop of line 141 East (54184) located on Shaughnessy, at the northeast corner of the intersection of Shaughnessy and Saint-Michel.
- D'Iberville station: stop 51567 (D'Iberville / Jean-Talon)

Next steps
To date, expert assessments are underway to secure the station and plan the corrective work. In fact, the next step is to design a technical solution to secure the station, procure the necessary securing equipment, and then carry out the securing work. At the same time, the teams are reviewing the engineering plans to plan and execute the renovations that have been going on since last March.
