TRAVEL INFO – WORK ON THE LOUIS-HiPPOLYTE-LAFONTAINE TUNNEL

During the major repairs to the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, the ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable is working with all transit service providers to implement public transit mitigation measures that will offer drivers alternative travel options for the remainder of the work. These measures will include the construction of new public transit infrastructure and the addition of services by the STM, RTL and exo.

Reserved lane on Sherbrooke East Street

To limit the impact of work at the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel on traffic congestion, a reserved lane for buses, taxis and carpooling vehicles has been set up on Sherbrooke Street East, between Parthenais and Haig streets.

This reserved lane is in operation Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Extension of the reserved lane on Sherbrooke East Street

As of December 4, 2023, the reserved lane on Sherbrooke East Street has been extended by 2.5 km in both directions, between Haig and Honoré-Beaugrand streets.

This extension will improve public transit for hundreds of customers every day, reducing travel times and increasing service reliability on 10 STM bus lines (18, 26, 185, 428, 432, 444, 448, 449, 811 and 822) and 13 exo, RTL and STL bus lines. Service will also be more predictable on all these bus lines.

811 Health Facilities Shuttle

With a point of departure at Radisson métro station, bus line 811 – Health Facilities Shuttle makes for an easy transfer from the Réseau de transport de Longueuil’s 461 line. This line previously stops at de Mortagne and de Touraine Park-and-Rides.

Line 811 – Health Facilities Shuttle is in service Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and offers departures :

  • Every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
