The STCUM Is Launching Route 261 Trainbus Saint-Charles
Montréal, June12, 1997 - Within the restructuring framework of the West-Island and in answer to expectations from its ridership, the STCUM is launching Route 261 Trainbus Saint-Charles which will begin servicing customers on Monday June 16. This route will link the Antoine-Faucon sector to the Beaconsfield train station by way of Saint-Charles Boulevard during rush hour.
Short Trains on Lines 4 - Yellow and 5 - Blue as of June 16
Montréal, June12, 1997 - The STCUM wishes to remind its ridership that as of June 16 and until next August 25, the number of métro cars will go from 9 to 6 on line 4 - yellow and from 6 to 3 on line 5 - blue. To avoid being inconvenienced, passengers should watch for signs on the platforms and go towards the front of the train. This measure will allow the STCUM to save significantly on energy and maintenance once again this year, without affecting customer service.
Service Modifications Due to the Fireworks and the Grand Prix
Montréal, June11, 1997 - The STCUM wishes to advise its ridership that modifications will be brought to some of its services in the course of the next few days due to the fireworks at La Ronde and the Grand Prix on Île-Notre-Dame.

The STCUM Is Bringing Back the Six-Ticket Strip
Montréal, June11, 1997 - Taking into consideration the comments of a section of the ridership that resented having to purchase its tickets in booklets of 12, the members of the Board of Directors have adopted a resolution to bring back, as soon as possible, the six-ticket strip costing $8, regular fare and $4, reduced fare. This measure could come into effect next September or October. The official date will be determined within the next few days.
The STCUM Is Rescheduling Access to its New Buses to September for People in Wheelchairs
Montréal, June11, 1997 - Because of delivery problems, the STCUM must reschedule access to its low-floor buses to people in wheelchairs to September.
At the time it was establishing its summer schedules, the STCUM did not have enough vehicles at its disposal to be able to provide this service to its wheelchair-bound ridership.
The STCUM Launches its RÉNO-MÉTRO 1997 Program
Montréal, June 5, 1997 - The métro turned 30 on October 14 of this year. Because of the ageing and wear on its facilities and in order to properly maintain this collective patrimony evaluated at close to 4 billion dollars, the STCUM is undertaking several major renovations.
New Times for the STCUM!
Montréal, June 5, 1997 - As of next June 16, STCUM bus schedules will be modified in relation to the variations in the number of commutes brought about by nice weather, and also because of the introduction of INTERLIGNE, a new schedule management system. Developed from the principle of busy periods, it will allow the STCUM to establish route schedules in relation to demand and no longer on a north-south, south-north round-trip basis.

{C}Montréal, June 05, 1997{C} - The STCUM wishes to inform its ridership that modifications will be brought to the service this coming Saturday and Sunday due to the fireworks at La Ronde and the Tour de l'Île de Montréal.
The STCUM Is Setting up a Committee to Study the Morgan Street Issue
Montréal, June 2, 1997 - With the consent of the mayors of Baie d'Urfée, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Beaconsfield, the members of the Board of Direction of the STCUM are going ahead with their project to reorganise public transit services in the West-Island as adopted at the beginning of the year.
