Extra! Extra! An Extra CAM Monthly Pass for Christmas Gift-Giving!

Montréal, December 16, 1996 - Next December 18, 19 and 20, in a number of métro stations, a team specially appointed by the STCUM will be promoting the Bus-Métro Pass (CAM) which will be made available exceptionally as of December 20, 1996 at the Berri-UQAM and McGill métro stations before being put on sale on December 26 in the rest of the network.

Its Concern for Women's Safety in the City Leads the STCUM to Make it's Between Two Stops Service Permanent

Montréal, December 16, 1996 - In view of its successful six-month trial run, the STCUM is happy to advise its female ridership that the Entre deux arrêts (Between Two Stops) project is now a permanent service. Thus, women travelling alone after 9:00 p.m. can ask the bus driver to be let off between two stops of a regular route at a location they judge to be safer.

Transfers: A One-Way Trip

Montréal, December 12, 1996 - Effective January 1st, the following rules will apply to the use of transfers: commuters who take a transfer will no longer be able to use it to make a round trip or to temporarily interrupt their commute and resume their trip on the same route. As is the case in most major North American public transit companies, transfers will permit them to board another vehicle in order to complete a trip and, as before, within a 90-minute period.

Opening of the Papineau Reserved Lane

Montréal, December 5, 1996 - Next Monday December 9, the Papineau reserved lane - located in the Ahuntsic district - will be added to the network of reserved lanes operated by the STCUM. This 0,9 kilometre lane will allow customers to shorten their commuting time while improving the consistency of the service in this sector.
