STM announces new reserved lanes for 2024

Press release

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is confirming the introduction of new reserved lanes for 2024 following their recent approval by the Executive Committee of the City of Montréal.

As part of the regular program of bus priority measures, three reserved lanes will be introduced on sections of Papineau (Ahuntsic-Cartierville and Villeray), Notre-Dame West (Lachine, Sud-Ouest and Montreal West), and Ray-Lawson (Anjou). Reserved lanes will also be added to sections of existing routes on Saint-Laurent (Ahuntsic-Cartierville) and Jarry (Villeray).

“I’m pleased to announce that the City of Montréal has once again this year approved and confirmed the three reserved lanes in the annual program of bus priority measures for 2024,” said Éric Alan Caldwell, chair of the STM Board of Directors. “We’ll continue to make every effort to inform the public affected by the measures and demonstrate the benefits. The STM is working with the boroughs and towns concerned to carefully plan the introduction of the reserved lanes, with a view to improving the performance of its bus network. By delivering dedicated infrastructure for buses and other modes of transportation such as bikes and taxis, as well as an enhanced customer experience, the STM is working hard to improve traffic flow and bus reliability.”
