STM extending reserved lane on Ray-Lawson Boulevard in Anjou

Press release

Montréal, December 23, 2024 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the Borough of Anjou are announcing a new reserved lane on Ray-Lawson Boulevard. Public transit customers will benefit from it starting today.

The reserved lane for buses, taxis and bikes will be in effect Monday to Friday:

  • Southbound between Henri-Bourassa East and Jarry East from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Northbound between des Sciences and Henri-Bourassa East from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“The reserved lane on Ray-Lawson will help us deliver better service for public transit users, optimizing between 700 and 900 rush-hour trips with about 30 buses serving the 428 Express Parcs Industriels de l'Est and 449 Express Rivière-des-Prairies bus lines circulating on this road,” said Éric Alan Caldwell, chair of the STM Board of Directors. “As a bus-and-bike reserved lane, it will also provide a safe option for cyclists. Among the advantages of this reserved lane are regularity and respect of the bus schedules.”

About Bus priority measures

Bus priority measures (MPB) consist of installations on the road system that ensure priority is given to public transportation, thereby improving the reliability and on-time delivery of service. These measures, including reserved lanes and priority traffic lights, lead to significantly shorter travel times.
