Register your OPUS card

A registered OPUS card is your guarantee against loss or theft. Your card and any valid fares remaining on it when you report the loss or theft will be replaced*.

It is not possible to recoup fares from an unregistered card.

This guarantee does not apply to an OPUS card that has been expired for more than six months.

If you have a reduced fare OPUS card with a picture :

Your card is automatically registered and you already benefit from the replacement guarantee.

How to register your OPUS card 

  • Online form  Your request will be processed within ten business days.
  • In person: go to any station booth.

You can register it the day after your purchase.

Identity documents accepted

A photo ID card- driver's license, health insurance card, passport, permanent resident card or asylum seeker's document.

If your card is lost or stolen

Regular-fare OPUS card:

Go to any station booth with a photo ID card. You will be given a new OPUS card charged with any fares remaining on the old one when you reported it lost or stolen. You will pay only the cost of a new OPUS card.

Reduced-fare OPUS card:

See a métro station agent at the fare booth or STM Photo Studio with a photo ID card. You will receive a new OPUS card charged with any fares remaining on the old one when you reported it lost or stolen. You will pay only the cost of a new OPUS card with photo.

N.B.: All cardholders, including minors, must go in person, as a new picture will be taken on site.
