The convenience of an annual fare subscription
OPUS à l’année, our annual fare program, is offered on reduced fares for the 65 and over.
Transport adapté customers 65 and over are automatically entitled to pay the reduced fare. You can see the « TA STM RÉDUIT » on their Transport adapté ID card on OPUS.
Free 65+, All modes A
New- Effective July 1, 2023
The Gratuité 65+, Tous modes A pass will allow residents of the Montréal agglomeration to travel free of charge by bus, metro, train, REM (as soon as it is put into service) and paratransit in zone A.
How to get the Free 65+ All Modes A fare:
No action is required.
When booking your trips in Zone A, the information in your customer file (age and place of residence) will be used to validate your eligibility for free travel.
You must show your Transport adapté ID OPUS card every time you use our paratransit service.
Are you a Transport adapté customer who would like to travel by métro, bus, commuter train and the REM (once it is in service) for free?
You must load the Free 65+ All Modes A fare onto your photo OPUS card:
- With a station agent in a Montréal métro station
- At the STM Fairview Pointe-Claire terminus
- In a metropolitan ticket office in Zone A
A photo OPUS card is $15, and it must be renewed every seven years.
If you are an OPUS à l’année subscriber, your subscription will be cancelled automatically on June 30.

For 6 to 15-years old
Children 6 to 15 years old are automatically entitled to pay the reduced fare. You can see the « TA STM RÉDUIT » on their Transport adapté ID card on OPUS.
For students 16 years old and over
All full-time students attending an academic institution recognized by the ministère de l’Éducation (MEQ) or the ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur (MES) (French only) are entitled to the student reduced fare, regardless of their age.
To take advantage of that benefit, you must obtain a photo OPUS card.

Free transit for seniors 65+
Starting July 1, 2023, residents of the agglomeration of Montréal age 65 and up will be able to enjoy free public transit (bus, métro, train, REM* and paratransit) within Zone A (the agglomeration of Montréal).
The details of this new policy will be made public shortly.
