The STM announces the implementation of bus and taxi priority measures on Saint-Jacques Street

News

Montréal, November 10, 2021 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing the implementation of a reserved lane for buses and taxis on Saint-Jacques Street, westbound between De Courcelle and St-Rémi streets and eastbound between Décarie and De Courcelle streets in the Sud-Ouest borough, starting November 15.

Totalling 1.2 kilometres in length, this lane will be reserved Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in both directions, and Monday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the eastbound direction. The implementation of these reserved lane sections is intended to improve bus traffic flow in the key area around the Turcot interchange.

These measures will eventually benefit approximately 10,400 trips daily, 6,000 of which are taken during peak periods on lines 17 Décarie, 37 Jolicoeur and 78 Laurendeau.

This work is made possible through funding from the Ministère des Transports du Québec.
