The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is launching a new phase of its awareness campaign on appropriate behaviour in public transit to encourage smoother travel.
Like the first phase rolled out since fall 2024, the campaign takes a positive approach, reminding riders that responsible behaviour can create a ripple effect—good brings good.
The five promoted “good behaviours” were selected for their impact on service reliability as well as their role in encouraging courtesy and awareness of others during trips:
- Take only one seat
- Place your backpack at your feet
- Let people out before you enter
- Move toward the back of the bus
- Wear headphones when using electronic devices
The campaign will run through advertising across bus and métro networks until mid-June, along with audio messages in stations and digital content on STM social media platforms.
Once again, the advertising placements are provided at no cost to the STM, aside from printing expenses, thanks to partnership agreements, and the campaign was developed entirely in-house.
