After detecting a technical issue with its 10-trips fare card, Société de transport de Montréal officials are asking all customers who hold a photo OPUS card (students 6 to 25 years old and anyone 65 and over), delivered between December 17, 2014 and October 18, 2015, to go check on the status of their card.
Montréal, October 20, 2015 – After detecting a technical issue with its 10-trips fare card, Société de transport de Montréal officials are asking all customers who hold a photo OPUS card (students 6 to 25 years old and anyone 65 and over), delivered between December 17, 2014 and October 18, 2015, to go to http://www.stm.info/en/info/fares/transit-fares/10-trips/important-notice-reconfiguration-certain-photo-opus-cards and check on the status of their card.
Once they enter their OPUS card’s number, customers will know right away if their card is affected by the technical issue and, if so, can follow the instructions provided. The technical problem means that up to 10,000 transit users could be penalized as their 10-trips fare expires prematurely, although that number only represents 1.8% of all photo OPUS card holders. The STM is doing everything possible to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
